Boys and Girls Club of the Naperville Area

bgcn_250

By no means did we create the national Boys and Girls Club of America brand design but what we did create was a  club specific modification for the Boys and Girls Club of the Naperville Area. Whenever you are dealing with modifications to a specific brand like the Boys and Girls Clubs or another franchise you do not have any, or very little input on any modifications.  What you will normally have is a set of very tight monitored requirements. This can sound like an inconvenience but more than likely you bought into the brand and want to be associated with what it stands for.

Brand Requirements

This design only had one requirement, which was to comply with all Boys and Girls Clubs of America Guidelines. This included, but was not limited to, specifications on colors, fonts, line spacing and more.

Solution

The final modified design may look simple but was actually a highly regulated design modifictiaon to ensure that it complied with all of the Boys and Girls Clubs guidelines.

Consolidated Management Group

The Consolidated Management Group brand is a Palm International orginal design. While at first glance it appears to be a simple design it is through the simplicity of the design that the branding conveys what the corporation needed it to convey.

Brand Considerations

  • Create a design that clearly states the name.
  • Convey strength, stability, trust.

Solution

The final design addresses all of the criteria that the client had. First the design clearly and boldly states the company's name conveying strength. Secondly is that the design was built in a rectangular framework conveying stability. And finally through the use of the color black the final value of trust was conveyed.

New Base Design

Full Dressed

ephe_logo_w-tear_color_250

The design for Expert Plumbing Heating & Electrical was not a design from scratch. The company had an existing brand design that they had been building for years but the company was growing and adding services that required updating so that the look of the logo conveyed the expanded service offerings.

Main Challenges

  • Maintain strength of existing brand.
  • Reflect expansion of service offerings.
  • Convey what is new from existing.

Solution

In this design we added the additional term in the order required by the client. Then went through several variations of text decoration to not only state but convey the idea of heat, regardless of whether the design was being displayed in black and white, gray-scale, or full dressed in color. With the base design being done it still did not convey what was new, so in the full dressed design you will notice a tear effect over the Heating and Electrical to draw more attention to the new services. All this was accomplished while keeping with the message that we are still the same great company only  we have expanded.

All designs displayed here are property of Expert Plumbing Heating Electrical of Naperville, Illinois and may not be copied, distributed, or used without their expresse permission.

FHA Professionals

The FHA Professional brand  is an original design. The client that requested this design had a couple of interesting considerations. Though the considerations were by no means unique they areactually thought about with every brand we design. However, it is not common to have a client request them up front.

Brand Consideration

  • Clearly convey that FHA is a reference to the Federal Housing Administration
  • Easy to reproduce on embroidery and other promotional products
  • Style in such a manor to represent any of the industries that deal with FHA or FHA property.

Solution

This design first and foremost conveys the reference to the Federal Housing Authority by FHA being a dominant point in the design in a shade of blue that is just a couple of shades darker than the blue that the Federal Housing Administration uses. Thereby reflecting a link but still stating this is a completely separate company. In addition the abstract roof/house line helps to reinforce the housing element. There is also the contrast between the straight forward FHA font and the script used for the professional font. This was done to cover the range of industries that deal with FHA or FHA Property.

Mainstreet Investor Roundtable

This client wanted a simple design that conveyed quickly what the group was about. This project was from scratch and the client had no pre-determined ideas on what they wanted the design to look like.

Challenges

Client wanted a design that conveyed:

  • A mature feel to the group, as if the group has been around for some time.
  • Strength.
  •  What the group is actuallyabout.

Solution

This design was compiled as such by our artists.

Name and Font

Bull and Bear

Table

Colors

The font was picked first and was picked on the basis that it was clean, easy to read and was familiar in feel and lends to the overall mature feel that the client wanted. Then the two line rectangular frame was done to convey stability along with compacting the overall design so that it would be easy to display in most locations both large and small. The bull and the bear were added to represent the two sides to the market. Along with conveying that the group was a group of investors in the financial markets. The round-table of the group is represented by a set of arcs instead of a complete circle or eclipse but is open on either side to reflect that the group is about being open to new ideas and new people. The colors of Black, Dark Green, and Gray were picked with the idea that you always want your investment in the black or making money. Dark Green conveys the idea of positive gains in the financial realm and with money.  Gray was picked for the bull and bear specifically because that market is very rarely completely a bull or a bear market but is normally somewhere in between or in a grey area.
